Our History
Foundation of Macro
Macro was founded in 2002 by Dr. Ahmed El Nayeb and his partner.
The Company was established as a partnership in 2005 after a preliminary development phase of around three years.
Development
Macro followed an asset light model whereby it toll manufactured all of its products in other pharmaceutical production facilities.
Initially, the company supplied cosmeceuticals and four dietary supplements.
However, as of 2007; it embarked on a new strategy whereby it gradually shifted towards only offering cosmeceutical products.
Institutionalization
In 2010, Macro established its own production facility with a total capacity of 78k units per shift per day.
In 2010, the company was converted to a limited liability company.
Value Creation
Transforming into a market leader with over 600 employees. Macro started to venture into new markets by exporting its products to African and Middle Eastern countries.
In an attempt to institutionalize the business, Macro’s founders were introduced to Alta Semper and Kingsway in 2016. The acquisition by Alta Semper and Kingsway was completed in 2017.
Today, Macro is the largest cosmeceuticals manufacturer in Egypt.
Initial Public Offering
2022 marked a historic turning point when Macro became the first dedicated cosmeceutical company to list on the EGX. This milestone stands as a testament to our dominant market position and our expanding team. It opened a new chapter of innovation, allowing us to scale operations and share our success with the talent driving our vision forward.
New Era
Entering a defining new era, Macro has introduced a powerful cultural paradigm designed to drive regional scale and long-term excellence: "Crew, Not Passengers." This strategic philosophy shifts the corporate mindset across the entire organization from passive participation to active ownership.
